As part of the Move for Health Day Ladysmith Parks & Rec is offering a week of free classes from May 9-14. So seeing the word…FREE…I thought, hey what a great idea and proceeded to sign up for everything I could get my hands on…and still work at my day job.
Now I don’t want to brag…but…I figure I’m in pretty good shape. I lift weights 3 x a week, I walk the dog daily and go on hikes whenever the sun is shining.
My first class was 30 min called Ab Express. I looked around at the little old ladies and thought..”Oh isn’t it nice that people are trying to exercise.”
Trying my foot. Those ladies wipped me out. I was panting and quivering in the first five minutes. I knew it was trouble when the
plank” came along …as a warm up to the real stuff. As I quickly retreated to the newbie position “using the knees” on the plank I looked around and realized I was the only one!
Four hours later I was back for the 3C’s - cycle, cardio and circuit. This time my swagger was a little less pronounced. A good thing too as I would need all my energy for this fiendish blend of spinning, and cardio, and strength training.
